Turn-based strategy gaming is one of the addictive genres, Advance wars for the game boy advance is going to rise battle cries from your GBA with its Generals Declaring war.

The game has everything you need for a war, conflicting countries, powerful commanders, great battlefields, and a mighty armies.

Game Features

- 114 battle maps- Extensive tutorial modes- Map creation modes- Battery save- Single system and multisystem multiplayer- Link cable support for four players (single and multicart)

The gamplay of the game is the best thing to start with, the turn-based system is great where game counts every turn as a day, and the player has number of actions to take every day is limited to the number and the kind of unites he has, the units are divided into three types, land units, naval units, and air units, every type its own units, each unit has its move limit, fire power, and vision, commanders of the game have various personalities, which reflects on their units, for example if the commander specialise in direct combat his tanks are going to be more powerful than other commanders tanks, the gameplay is well-balanced and doesn't have any memorable flaws.

The game has different modes to choose from, you can unlock new modes, you can't play the campaign until you clear the filed training mode, this mode to understand the basics of the game, when

Up to four players can play on one system or with a Link cable.

You finish the training you will be able to play the campaign, as you progress in the game the cpu gets smarter and smarter, winning a battle means battle coins, which allows you to unlock maps and commanders to use them in war room and multiplayer modes, another good feature is the map design which enables you to design maps and exchange them with other players via GBA link cable.

The game didn't push the Game Boy Advance graphics to its limits, but that's OK, the game graphics just suites the game well, the battlefield is viewed from an isometric angle, the view changes during a battle between two units, the battle animation is good, reactions of the commanders is visible during a battle visuals (which can be turned off), also Advance wars characters are designed in a beautiful anime style makes the game more energetic.

Advance wars soundtrack is full, every character has his or her own theme, what will make you like commanders more than others because of their music theme, battle sound effects are like, you know battle explosions, bullets, and my favorite one is the battle ship canons, they are really epic, and because Nintendo made this game there is no one going to die, the infantry units just fly across the screen without any sound.

Advance wars have perfect turn-based strategy game elements, there is number of rules that controls every battle and determine the winning path, you can change those rules in the versus and link mode so you can play a battle for hours or for just a few minuets, in the single player campaign there are lots of dialogues some are important and others are not, but it's good that you can skip them by pressing start.

Conclusion

Advance wars is an addictive game for those who like Turn-based strategy, the game provides a perfect environment of battlefields and professorial commanders, and a powerful armies, I think that the game is the most balance of the series, it has better graphics than the previous titles on the Game Boy, if you are into this kind of games this and didn't try this game yet, you've missed a lot of Game Boy Advance system.
