Goblins were known to be slaves to trolls on the Kezan Isle where their sole job was to mine kaja'mite ore from deep valley under the volcanic mountain of Kajaro. The third expansion of the game called cataclysm came out where goblins had joined the horde and had a cataclysm goblin mount by the name of Trike.
In the third expansion, a person sees developments where cataclysmic events take place on Lost Isles and the Undermine. The goblins are betrayed by their own Trade Prince and are a target to open hostility attacks of the Alliance. The Bilgewater Cartel goblins find their relations with others not neutral and join Orcs. They are the 6th race in the game to follow the warchief and accept his leadership.
It is in the nature of goblins to be crafty and cunning along with being greedy. It is a race that holds mastery over merchandise and mercantilism. There were many trade princes that came into being during the First war where goblins were at an advantage. The Isle of kezan was the center of the trade between other ships and the goblin trading ships.
An ambitious trade prince lent his trade services to the Horde in the second war. Unfortunately, the horde lost in this war and goblins learned that it was not a good idea to stay restricted to one section. Thus during the third war, the goblins decided to double their profits by offering weapons, vehicles and their clever tactics to both the horde as well as the alliance members.
However, the new enemy in the alliance; the mysterious SI:7 section of King Varian's forces that offered unprofitable trade forced the hand of the trade prince goblin Gallywix to merge back with the old ally - the Horde.
Gallywix was alarmed to find that the Garrosh's damned accountants refused to pay death benefits to Bilgewater soldier goblins who got trampled to death before they reached the battleground.
The trade prince offered a lucrative cash reward to the one who could help goblins get out of leg traffic to join the actual battle where they may be rewarded for their death.
Trike is the cataclysm goblin mount that was created by Jibidiah "sans fingers" Gragglefutz who had years of experience selling street side grenades and unfortunate accidents that led him to create a powerful and fast but mostly durable vehicle. Trike with faster turbo charge version is in the making.
